Why it matters

Space instead of stereo.

In Dolby Atmos, sounds are no longer channels but objects in space. A voice stays in front, synths move overhead, atmospheres surround you. On Apple Music, Tidal and Amazon Music this plays as spatial audio, in cinemas and home theatres over speakers, and on phones binaurally over headphones.

We mix in the control room of our main studio in Frankfurt, designed by acoustician Jan Morel, with 7.1.4 monitoring. Larger cinema projects we also mix with partners: the final Atmos mix for the feature film YABADU was done together with Stefan Heger at toruspost in Cologne.
