Audiobook & Radio Drama

Audiobook
and radio drama.

A book for the ears needs a voice that carries and a recording people enjoy for hours. We produce audiobooks and radio dramas: casting, direction, studio recording, editing, sound design, music and finished files for the audiobook platforms.

Also known as: audiobook production, audiobook narrator, narrate your own audiobook, audio drama, radio play with music and sound effects.

Why it matters

Hours of listening, without fatigue.

An audiobook often runs for several hours. What goes unnoticed in a short spot becomes distracting at that length: mouth clicks, changing room sound, a voice that sounds different from chapter to chapter. Direction in the studio and careful editing make chapter 20 sound like chapter 1.

Radio drama adds what we do every day as a sound agency: sound effects, atmospheres and music that bring a scene to life. More on the sound design page.

Services

What we take on
for your audiobook.

Voice casting

You get a selection of narrators with samples read from your text and decide who reads your book. For several roles too.

Narrate it yourself, with direction

Want to read your book yourself? We direct, watch pace, emphasis and pronunciation, and make sure you sound the same across many sessions.

Studio recording

Directed recording in our studios in Frankfurt, Cologne or Berlin. Microphone, distance and room stay fixed across every session.

Editing and mastering

We remove slips, breaths and mouth noise and master to the technical specs of the platforms, such as Audible (ACX).

Radio drama with an ensemble

Several voices, scenes with sound effects and atmospheres, original music and a mix that makes space and movement audible.

Audiobooks for companies

Company history, specialist books or training content as an audiobook, in several languages if you like and with music in your brand's sound.

Process

From manuscript to finished audiobook.

Four steps, one point of contact.

01

Manuscript

We go through the manuscript with you, settle the pronunciation of names and technical terms and mark places for roles and sound effects.

02

Casting

Samples read from your text. You choose the voice or the cast; if you narrate yourself, we do a test recording.

03

Recording

Directed studio sessions. For radio drama we record scenes with several voices and add sound effects and music.

04

Delivery

Files chapter by chapter in the format your platform or publisher requires, with opening and closing credits.

Who it is for

Authors, publishers, companies.

Most audiobooks and radio dramas we produce come from here:

Self-published authors. An audiobook of your book, read by you or by a narrator, ready for the platforms.

Publishers. Production to your specs, with casting, direction and delivery in your format.

Companies and institutions. Company histories, specialist books and learning content as audiobooks, internal or public.

Radio drama projects. Series, children's audio dramas and audio dramas for brands, with an ensemble, sound design and original music.
