For the fast-paced "Opel x Josselin" commercial campaign by Opel (Stellantis), we were commissioned as a commercial sound design agency to create an auditory identity that combines the urban zeitgeist with sporty driving pleasure. Through driving commercial music production and a highly precise automotive commercial sound design concept, we developed a commercial that stands out from the crowd not only visually but, above all, acoustically.

The "Opel x Josselin" campaign is characterised by fast cuts, dynamic imagery, and an unmistakably urban lifestyle. The major creative challenge for the Opel sound design was to seamlessly and impressively translate this visual energy onto the audio track.
The commercial required an extremely punchy beat that at the same time leaves enough frequency space for the striking engine noises, tyre squeals, and action elements. As a specialised agency for automotive commercial music, we had to ensure that music and sound design do not compete with each other but interlock organically to unfold maximum emotional impact.
The sound design could not appear artificial but had to authentically emphasize the sporty character of the vehicle. The goal was to mix the sound in such a way that it is immediately perceived as a fast-paced premium experience, even in short social media cutdowns or on smartphone speakers.

To achieve this perfect symbiosis of music and sound design, we relied on a closely interlocked production workflow in four crucial phases:
Music Production & Composition
We started the commercial music production specifically for the spot. A driving, bass-heavy beat was created that was adapted exactly to the director's editing sequence. The rhythm and tempo of the music dictate the thrilling pacing structure of the entire commercial.
Hyper-Realistic Sound Design
Parallel to the music, we developed the massive sound effects. From the aggressive roar of the engine to the subtle click of the seat belt — every sound was designed in detail and tonally matched to the musical key, so that the engine sounds functioned like additional instruments in the beat.
Commercial Scoring & Foley
In this phase, we added the subtle, narrative layers. The ambient noises of the city, the rapid rushing past buildings, and the small, human interactions in the cockpit. This layer anchors the spot in reality and makes it dynamically tangible for the viewer.
Mix & Mastering
The finishing touches were applied in the mix. Here, we used state-of-the-art dynamic EQ and sidechain techniques to ensure that the bass drum of the music makes way exactly when a striking engine sound is in focus. The final mastering guaranteed maximum loudness compliance for TV and online platforms.
