Sounds Like Fissler:
What cooking with Fissler sounds like.

What does a brand sound like when you cook with its products? For Fissler, it is the pressure cooker locking and letting off steam, and the pan with a steak searing in it. In October 2024 we recorded these sounds on the video set, edited them and released them as two albums with 18 sounds each on Spotify, Apple Music and more. Since then, people can add them to their own videos on Instagram.

The brief

Not the logo,
the products.

Sonic branding usually starts with a sound logo or brand music. This project was about the products themselves: what does a Fissler pressure cooker sound like when the lid locks and the steam escapes? What does a Fissler pan sound like when potatoes or shrimps hit it?

The sounds had two jobs. They had to work on Fissler's social channels. And they had to be available to everyone, so people could use them in their own cooking videos. That meant releasing them as music, because that is how they get onto Spotify and into Instagram's audio picker.

Our part

From the video set
to Spotify.

Recording, editing and release were ours:

01

The sound playlist

First we defined which sounds to capture: 19 cooking moments, among them the pressure cooker lid locking, pasta in boiling water, a bite of ciabatta and a satisfied “mmmh” from a man and a woman.

02

Recording on the video set

We recorded on 4 October 2024 during the video shoot, with a boom and a field recorder, as close to pot and pan as possible. So the sounds belong to exactly what happens on screen: the same pan, the same oil, the same moment.

03

Editing

A film set is never quiet. In post-production we cleaned every recording, removed unwanted noise and shaped the sound so the sizzle, bubbling and crunch come first, even on a phone speaker.

04

Brought to track length

A reel needs a few seconds. For Spotify we looped each sound cleanly to about a minute, so it works as a track of its own.

05

Two albums, two languages

On 23 October 2024, “Sounds Like Fissler (DE)” and “Sounds like Fissler (EN)” came out with 18 tracks each, through our label on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and other platforms. The titles are what people search for: “Pan searing a steak” or “Pfanne Steak anbraten”.

06

Sound for the making-of

We also repaired the audio of the making-of clips from the shoot, including egg, salmon, shrimps, sauce and steak.

The track list

18 sounds,
two languages.

Every sound appears on both albums, once with an English and once with a German title:

  • Pressure cooker closing the lid · Schnellkochtopf Deckel schließen
  • Pressure cooker steam · Schnellkochtopf Abdampfen
  • Pot simmering and stirring · Topf Kochen und Umrühren
  • Pot pouring · Topf ausgießen
  • Pot cooking pasta · Topf Nudeln kochen
  • Whisk stiring · Schneebesen rühren
  • Pan frying an egg · Pfanne Ei braten
  • Pan frying potatoes · Pfanne Kartoffeln braten
  • Pan searing a steak · Pfanne Steak anbraten
  • Pan frying fish · Pfanne Fisch anbraten
  • Pan deglazing vegetables · Pfanne Gemüse ablöschen
  • Pot simmering food · Topf köchelndes Essen

The result

Sounds that
keep coming back.

The sounds were well received and widely used, above all as audio in reels and far beyond Germany. On Spotify they have passed 10,000 streams, with “Pan frying an egg” alone at over 5,000. The English album gets the most plays, and every so often there are phases in which the sounds turn up under a lot of videos.

On Instagram, Fissler launched the sounds under #SoundsLikeFissler. From November 2024 there were collaborations with creators such as @benkauer, @britta.brand, @lukejaquerodney and @carmushka, each with a giveaway in which you had to guess the cooking sound. In January 2025 @fissler_de ran its own guessing giveaway, and in July 2025 the international channel @fissler also pointed to the sounds in Instagram's music library. They still turn up in Fissler's posts today, for example in the hot cocoa making-of in December 2025.

For Fissler that means: anyone cooking and filming at home can give their video the sound of a Fissler pan. On Instagram, every video that uses one of the sounds shows the name Fissler and the title of the sound.

How other brands make their products heard is the topic of our blog article What does a product sound like?

FAQ

Questions about
product sounds.

What a music distributor releases on Spotify, Apple Music and others can also show up in Instagram's audio picker. Then creators can put the sounds under their videos, with the brand name attached. Business accounts have limited access there, but they can reuse the sounds as the brand's original audio.

Because the sounds then match the pictures shot the same day. And real food in a real pan sounds different from a recreated effect.

Spotify only counts a stream after 30 seconds. That is why we brought the sounds to about a minute. A reel only needs an excerpt.

Yes. Any product that makes a sound in use can be recorded this way. We listen to how yours sounds, record it and take the sounds to where your audience uses them.
